The latest in Bert Kinzey's highly useful series of books on famous aircraft for the modeler who wants to get things right. With the recent release of Hasegawa's razorback P-47, modelers now have accurate 1/48 kits of all major versions of this important fighter, making the book a valuable resource. In 80 pages, Bert provides an excellent thumbnail history of the development and use of Republic's P-47 Thunderbolt in all its operational versions, accompanied by the usual collection of really useful detail photos. Of particular note are the modern color cockpit photographs of several different versions of Thunderbolt, that are either of unmodified aircraft or accurate restorations. As expected, the book concludes with reviews of all available models of the Thunderbolt in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scales.

Highly recommended.
