It is hard to believe that another IPMS National Convention has come and gone! As usual, there were a significant number of beautiful models on display, and many attendees were confronted with the world's largest hobby shop throughout that weekend. The next convention is slated for Dallas in 2000, and the site selected for the 2001 show is Chicago! Congratulations everyone!
While there were no major kit revelations at this year's convention, the model industry continues to turn out kits that cover previously ignored subjects and/or kits that continue to "raise the bar" on quality and detail. When the super detailer gets a hold of one of these new kits, they find that many of the areas that required their special talents are now provided straight out of the box. Invariably they seek out new challenges in these kits and raise their own bar on the level of detail and reality in their completed models. As these new kits and techniques come out, you can count on Internet Modeler to get the information to you first.
