As winter rolls around, thoughts turn to those modelling projects that have been put off for other pursuits. Join us in a little trip to visit some such projects. Starting with Michael Kendix's rendition of the world's first four-engined bomber, the Russian Il'ya Muromets; on to that unsung stalwart of the RFC/RAF's corps observation squadrons in WW1, the Armstrong Whitworth FK8, rendered in 1/72 scale by Dennis Ugulano. Al Supercyznski's A-36 displays what can be accomplished when the decision to do it right is taken. MIlton Bell does a wonderous job on the Tamiya Ki-84-I Frank and the articles wrap up with a what-could-have-been in the form of the TSR.2 by Paul Gold. And then we reach the first looks section where the pride of place goes to the much anticipated Accurate Miniatures Grumman F3F-1. Is it as good as has been rumoured? Join Michael Benolkin and see. |
