Look for his review of the Minicraft 757 in this issue 1/200 Hasegawa MD11 with Liveries Unlimited American Airlines Decals (two sets to enhance colour). The finish is a combination of SNJ Powder, Floquil silver and Bare-Metal foil. Despite being given a polyurethane overcoat the metal appearance is still quite new and natural, and only gives a hint of oxidation. Plus, the finished model can be handled, and decals will not fray and chip with age. | | | | Craig Golema says this about his 'Butcher Bird' "The model started life as the 1/48 Tamiya Fw-190 F8 and was backdated to the A8. The model includes details and aftermarket parts from Verlinden, Cavalier, Eduard, Waldron and True Details, along with a healthy dose of scratch building. Markings are from AeroMaster and paint is Floquill. I build custom miniatures for Museums, private collectors and films. But I couldn't part with this one, so I kept her for my own display. If you'd like more info please feel free to contact me." Craig Golema President Precision Miniatures Unlimited | | | | | | Gaston Graf has this to say . . . . "I attach you a picture of a model of mine. It's a B17 crewman in 1/16th scale (120mm). The kit was manufactured by Verlinden from Belgium and came out as the movie of the Memphis Belle got released. I build this easy model in 88 hours only, 3 hours for assembly and 85 hours for painting. The model is painted using artist oils." Gaston is currently working on an article about his techniques for us. Tony Paton sent this shot of the 1998 world 500gp championship bike of Australian rider Michael Doohan and his 1999 machine where un-fortunately he crashed near the beginning of the year that took him out of the entire season. Both are Tamiya's 1/12 Honda NSR 500 98 & 99 versions. For more of Tony's work, see his article on the Oxo Supercube in this issue. | |
