The Avengers' Mrs. Peel

'The Avengers' was a television series which had everything. Action, drama, comedy and a positive succession of glamourous partners for Steed. Mrs. Peel (played by Diana Rigg) however, was definitely in a class of her own. Beautiful, bright (she held a degree in mathematics), with a fighting style guaranteed to subdue any criminal or spy she happened to meet.

The Kit

This is a new, limited edition kit of Mrs. Peel in one of her trademark outfits from the series. It is animated in a very '60's pose and while the surface moulding is a bit soft it is adequate.

You get eleven parts to this kit (including a stand), each wrapped separately in bubble wrap and then packed in a stout box. On opening mine however I found that one leg had snapped away from the torso. Not difficult to fix however.

I cannot stress enough the need to reinforce the joints of this kit. Each part does have substantial plugs to assit with joining but reinforcement is necessary due to the weight of the resin. The fit is adequate however filler will be necessary in most places to get a neat finish. Most of the joins occur at seams or boot tops etc which presents less problems in obtaining a good join.

Conclusion

This figure will need careful painting to bring out the true detail of Mrs Peel. As moulded it doesn't look quite right but as you can see by the box art once painted she looks a lot better.

As far as I know this is the only kit available of this subject. I got mine from X-O Facto for USD $89. A good buy for fans of "The Avengers".
