Walk Around Focke Wulf Fw190A/F

By Michael Benolkin

By Malcolm Laing & E. Brown Ryle
Squadron/Signal Publications
ISBN 0-89747-414-7
79 pages

The next installment of the Walk Around series is here, and this one fills in the rest of the Focke Wulf Fw190 family. You'll recall the earlier Walk Around Fw190D title which took a photo tour of the ins and outs of the Fw190D variants. This release picks up with the Fw190A/F versions.

Comprising 79 pages, this edition provides a great mix of color and B&W photos, color profiles, and scrap detail drawings documenting virtually all aspects of the aircraft's construction and appearance. In addition to the usual variety of single seat examples, the authors included shots of the two-seat Fw190S at RAF St Athan.

It is great to see the increasing levels of detail that each new title tries to achieve. If the modeler attempted to replicate all of the details shown in this edition, he or she would have to ensure that the ignition switch was off before playing with the propeller!

This is a must-have in your modeling and/or historical library.

My sincere thanks to Squadron/Signal Publications for this review sample!
