White Dog Decals is putting out some really neat stuff these days, and if you're interested in P-61s you'll definitely want to check these two sets out. Both sets are for P-61s from the 418th NFS in the Southwest Pacific. The information given with the small markings sheet is extremely valuable and goes into detail about how the plane was marked, including why they had white serials instead of red and the color of the tailband (a hint: it isn't red like the Monogram kit has). Also, note the white star and moon. Often depicted as yellow, the research done by White Dog has turned up pictures and testimony that proves that these were, indeed, painted in white.

The markings themselves are provided as dry transfers rather than decals, and two methods of application are outlined in the instructions. The first choice is to use them as dry transfers, applying them directly to the model. The other choice is to apply them to clear decal stock, cutting them out, and using them as regular decals. Whichever method you choose, these markings will be very crisp and with beautiful registration. They are a limited printing, though, so if you're itching to build up either the Monogram 1/48 or DML 1/72 Black Widow kits, you'll definitely want to grab these as quickly as possible.

1/72 Nose Art Upgrade
NAU72005 "Dragon Lady"
$3.95

Well, you definitely don't see this very often. This is an upgrade for an aftermarket decal set. Confusing? Well, sort of, at least until you see what you get for your money. This is nothing more than a replacement decal for the nose art on the Aeromaster 1/72 B-29 decal sheet #72-131, "Dragon Lady". It uses the Photoflex method, giving you a very realistic piece of artwork to put on your B-29. Looking at this decal and comparing it to the one that comes with the Aeromaster sheet and you can see that this one is a no-brainer. If you're planning on doing the B-29 "Dragon Lady", run, don't walk, to your closest hobby shop and get this upgrade immediately.
