British WW1 Aircraft in the Polish Air Service

Following WW1 the various states that had occupied Poland were either defeated or thrown into chaos, the result of which was the formation of a new Polish state. To defend this new state an air force was required, and for this, they gathered aircraft from wherever they could be found. Ex-German, Austrian, French, Italian and British aircraft were purchased from the former enemies and an equally motley assortment of aircrew flocked to the cause.

This book deals with the aircraft that Poland purchased from the British. Within its 88 pages can be found details on the SE5a, Bristol F2b Fighter, Sopwith Dolphin, deHavilland DH9, Sopwith Camel, Martinsyde Buzzard and Handley Page 0/400. Their operational usage as well as the history of how they came to be acquired is given. In addition there are numerous photographs and nicely done colour profiles by Artur Juszczak

I acquired my copy in trade from a fellow WW1 list member in Poland (thanks Witold), but it should be available from the address above as well.

I would hope that future volumes will deal with aircraft supplied by other nations
