Plastic Kit Constructor Issue #64

Reviewed by Al Superczynski

Here's a look at an old friend. I had read Plastic Kit Constructor for many years until my aircraft interests narrowed to mainly 1/72 scale US aircraft, letting my subscription lapse for purely economic reasons.

Ron Firth, the editor, kindly sent me a sample copy of issue number 64 recently and if anything the magazine is even better than when I subscribed. It's absolutely chock full of an eclectic mix of reviews, some quite extensive, covering no less than 11 kits along with book and decal reviews, scale drawings, and an old-fashioned DIY conversion article with the feel of the old days of Airfix Magazine. There's also an interesting story about the early days of vac kits and a full page and a half spread of ads for mainly British companies associated with the modeling scene. There's little fluff in the 36 pages and I can highly recommend PKC to aircraft modelers with wide-ranging interests.

Contact Ron directly for current subscription rates for this quarterly publication from the UK. PKC is also available from Wise Owl Worldwide Publications, 1926 S. Pacific Coast Highway, Suite 204, Redondo Beach, CA 90277 @ $38.50 surface or $45 Air Mail.
