AML 72 005
Mitsubishi A6M2-K
Decals & Resin Additions

By Chris Banyai-Riepl

The A6M2-K was a two-seat plane originally designed to be a target tug, but at the end of the war many of these planes were converted into kamikaze fighters and used against US ships approaching Japan.  This decal sheet complements the nice AML 1/72 A6M2-K by providing plenty of decal options for these kamikaze Zeros, as well as including resin bits.

The resin pieces include two bombs, with separate fins, the associated bomb racks, and two suitcases.  There are a total of five schemes on this sheet, two in gray and three in green over gray.  The instructions are very thorough, with a side view and top view illustration for each option included.  The decals are printed by Tally Ho! and are very thin and in excellent register.  There are a total of 26 roundels included, although there are only enough fuselage roundels to do three of the examples, leaving plenty of extras for your spares box.  There is enough data and detail markings to complete two planes.

Overall this is an excellent decal sheet and really goes nicely with the AML kit.  If you've got this kit sitting in the closet and have been thinking of building it, this gives you plenty of more choices.
