TwoBobs 1/32 A-10A Compass Ghost Tank Plinkers Decals

By Michael Benolkin

There's a new sheriff in town. Actually there are two - the Two Bobs. They've started a new line of decals for modelers who want to build something a little different. They've already built up a small list of interesting subjects, with more to come.

This release is a 1/32 set for the Trumpeter A-10A kit (there is also a 1/48 set as well). The two aircraft featured in this set are Compass Ghost Hogs:

  • A-10A, 79-191 of the 57th Wing at Nellis AFB, NV. This aircraft sports the Weapons School trademark yellow/black checkerboard tail band

  • A-10A, 79-175 of the 104th Fighter Squadron/175th Wing, Maryland ANG. The tail band is a colorful adaptation of the Maryland state flag. Additional markings are provided for a baggage pod.

The decal set provides two full sets of national markings, maintenance stencils and 'slime light' formation lights. Unless you're actually going to build both aircraft, this nice set provides you with much appreciated spares when those occasional problems arise.

A full set of color profiles are also provided with left and right sides as well as top and bottom. Color references are provided using FS number and the equivalent Testors Model Master, Humbrol, and Gunze Sangyo paint numbers. Bravo Bob. You too Bob!

Take note, however. According to their website at www.twobobs.net, this set is already sold out. This means that the manufacturer has sold out, but many of the hobby shops and distributors will have them for a little while longer, so don't snooze!
