Cobra Company Resin Details

By Michael Benolkin

Cobra Company continues to do what they do best - develop aftermarket details and conversions for rotary-winged subjects (though they've done some pretty impressive fixed-wing stuff as well!). In this latest installment, Cobra has released two new sets - a weapons set for the 1/72 UH-1 Huey and conversion for that hard-to-find Revell 1/48 H-34. Let's take a look:

72013 - UH-1B/C/F Weapons Set

This set contains 17 parts to arm up the Italeri 1/72 Huey. The set includes two XM-157 rocket pods and pylons, two universal mounts and two complete M134 miniguns.

48029 - S-58T Conversion

This converts the piston-powered H-34D or H-34G kits from Revell into the turbine-powered version as flown by various military and civilian operators. This set includes a nicely cast (and large) replacement nose, underside engine mount details and the turbine exhaust stacks. Note - While I don't have either the H-34D or H-34G kits in my collection (and good luck finding one), I do happen to have one of the Revell 1/48 Wessex Queen's Flight aircraft (which is a British-made H-34). This kit is a normal H-34 with the unique British turbine nose parts included separately, and this conversion mounts on the front of this kit as nicely as the other two H-34 kits, which means that there is an easier-to-find option from which to build your S-58T!

You can order these and all of Cobra Company's other great offerings direct from their website at www.cobracompany.com.

My sincere thanks to Cobra Company for these review samples!
