F-14A Tomcat, USN VF-111 "Sundowners"
"Miss Molly" in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32
Hawkeye Models Australia

This particular F-14A was one of VF-111's CAG birds aboard the USS Carl Vinson in 1989. The cute nurse featured in the artwork is in honor of Miss Molly Snead (a nurse who cared for Senator Vinson's wife). Red markings on a white bird, shark mouths (yes, more than one!) and great nose art to boot - this has to be one of the most eyecatching Tomcat schemes around. Definitely an attention getter on any modeller's shelf.

The decal set itself gives you everything you need to reproduce this scheme. A separate sheet of whites is provided to give better depth and while applying the whites may spin out decal application, the result is surely worth it.

Registration and colour are excellent and there is good colour density. This is particularly noticeable in the nose art and the red decals - there is no "dottiness" or uneven coverage. Nice work Hawkeye!

Instructions are in colour and with four views of the aircraft, clearly show where each decal needs to be placed. Decal handling notes are also supplied to help you get the best out of the set as these decals have no carrier film.

Although this set was released in February of this year, it is new to me and once seen I just had to have it. Any Tomcat lover would enjoy this set - it makes a great looking aircraft outstanding. I got mine from SANDLE Hobbies and was informed that this is a limited edition set. Do what I did and grab it quickly!
