Tally Ho! 1/48 D.H. 98 Mosquito Part 1

This sheet has squeezed four Mosquito options, all of them a bit different from the usual.  The first example is a Mosquito NF MK. II of 23 Squadron, 1942.  Flown by F/Lt K. Kuttelwasher and P/O G. E. Palmer, this plane is overall flat black  ('smooth night'), with red code letters and serial numbers.  The second option is also a solid color, this time an overall silver FB Mk. VI of the RAAF.  This one carries the standard RAAF roundels of the time, being blue and white.  Black codes and serial numbers make up the rest of the standard markings, but to make this one stand out a bit more this plane has a bit of nose art on the crew access hatch.  A diving woman in profile is underneath the phrase "The Bondi Blonde" and adds a bit of contrast to the otherwise plain scheme.

The other two choices are camouflaged in dark green and ocean gray over medium sea gray.  The first is a Czech FB Mk. VI.  This plane is coded IY-1 and features red spinners.  Roundels are on both upper and lower wings as well as on the vertical tail.  The codes are repeated in white on the lower wings as well.  The second camouflaged machine is an F-8 of the USAAF and flown in Italy.  This plane has the colors reversed from those of the Czech example and also features yellow wing leading edges.  A sky band is around the rear fuselage and the serial is on the tail in yellow.  This plane also carries a bit of nose art, being named "The Spook" in white letters shaded black.

The decals are well printed and have excellent register.  The choices are all interesting examples and should provide something a bit different than the standard kit markings.
