Cobra Company 1/35 MH-6J Little Bird Conversion

Hot off the workbench from Cobra Company is their latest conversion - the MH-6J Little Bird. As those of you who are rotary-wing modelers, you'll remember the DML 1/35 kit of the AH-6J Little Bird. Based on the McDonnell Douglas (former Hughes) MD500/530 airframe and powerplant, the H-6J is a hotrod compared to its older brother, the OH-6A Cayuse.

The DML kit provides the gunship version of this aircraft used by the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR). The AH-6J is essentially a hotrod Cayuse with a plank that runs through the passenger compartment. On this plank is usually a pair of forward-firing miniguns and a pair of seven-shot rocket pods.

This Cobra Company conversion allows you to replace the gun plank with a 'transport' plank that allows the aircraft to carry up to six special forces troops outside the aircraft. This set also includes a new instrument cluster, cockpit center console, FLIR monitors, a better FLIR turret, RWR antennas, and several other interesting details. The set also includes two pair of detailed pilots' seats, one pair with seatbelts/harnesses and one without.

If you're a rotary buff, this MH-6J set is a must for you. Whether you get a set and convert the DML AH-6J kit or use many of the details to simply accurize/update the AH-6J kit. You'll probably going to want two sets, so you can have both versions of the Little Bird on your scale flightline.
