This interesting little publication came my way recently and even though it’s written in Slovakian I just couldn’t pass it up.  Since my Slovakian is, well, nonexistent, I’ve had to try to interpret it as best I could, and what it appears to do is provide a complete history of the Bf 109G-6 in the Slovakian Air Force, both under German rule and afterwards.  There are color profiles illustrating many of the planes (numbers 1 through 10, minus 4 and 9) and there is also a set of color illustrations showing the different camouflage patterns and various stencil markings.

The photos are what really make this book great, with the center section filled with lots of color photos of restored Bf 109s, giving a very nice little walkaround.  The period photos are all shots that I’ve never seen before and do an excellent job of showing the different markings carried by the Slovakian Bf 109s.  Photos of this small air force during the Second World War are rare so seeing this many in one place is really impressive.

If you’re into small air forces or just like the Bf 109 this is a book you’ll want to look up.  HT Model has a website at https://www.htmodel.sk.
