OzMods 1/144 Martin B-57B Canberra

By Bob Pearson

Introduction

One of the longest serving jet aircraft is the Canberra in its various guises. OzMods has just released a 1/144 kit of the US version, the Martin B-57 which saw use in the Vietnam war.

The Kit

The kit consists of five sprues of dark grey plastic as well as five resin detail parts and two vacform canopies. The fuselage has engraved panel lines with no interior detail molded in place. However ether is a resin cockpit tub, with two separate ejector seats and control column. The remanider of the plastic parts are the wings in two pieces each, wheels, wheel covers, control panels, wing tanks, intake and nozzle for a total of 33 plastic parts.

Decals are provided for USAF and Pakistani examples, with b/w drawings showing these options. Instructions sonsist of an exploded drawing showing all parts.

Conclusion

An interesting addition to the growing field of 1/144 scale kits, the Canberra should find a home in collections of Vietnam era aircraft as well as those of anyone interested in early jet aircraft.
