Scale Nutz 1/72, 1/48, & 1/32
TUDM MiG-29N Fulcrums

Scale Nutz is a decal company out of the Far East, and as such they are focusing their efforts on subjects that are local to them. This latest sheet provides markings for Malaysian MiG-29Ns, a definite diversion from the usual Russian examples. The decal sheet is comprehensive and it provides markings for both 17 Squadron and 19 Squadron aircraft. This includes both single and two-seat aircraft. The instructions are very thorough and provide complete camouflage information. All of the TUDM MiG-29s have a lightning bolt on the tail, and there are a couple of different unit markings to spice things up. Additionally, the sheet comes with a thorough set of stenciling, and the instructions clearly mark their position.

For the 1/72 and 1/48 sheets, there is an added bonus: markings for the TUDM Su-30MKM Super Flanker. These are not scheduled to be delivered until 2006, so these markings are conjecture at this time, but given how the MiG-29s are finished, these are probably going to be pretty close to the mark.

The decals are very well printed, with excellent color density and great registration. The only downside is that the TUDM MiG-29s have a refueling probe mounted on the side of the fuselage, which no kit has. However, there is a resin upgrade out there for this, so the conversion should not be too tough. My thanks to Scale Nutz for the review samples.
