Windsock
International
Volume 20, Number 2
Albatros Publications, ©2004
Softbound, 32 Pages
This latest issue of Windsock International is packed full of interesting
material. The best is the continuation of the Wartime Color section, this
time with two period color photos of a Farman F.40. These photos are easily
worth the price of a year's subscription, and the folks at Albatros plan
on having more show up in future issues. In this issue the editors also
include a brief overview of the process used, which at this time in France
was the autochrome process, a fascinating process utilizing dyed potato
starch.
Other content in this issue include a beautifully restored BAT FK.23
Bantam, Harry Woodman's report on the Lutskoi Taube, a detailed analysis
of Farman F.40 colors with scale drawings of the type, the usual kit reviews,
some very nice model builds, and some interesting letters to the editor.
All in all this is shaping up to be a great year for Windsock International,
so if you haven't subscribed, now is a perfect time.
