Draw Decal's 1/144 Hans A321

By Roy Moseley

Ever since United launched its 'Ted' low-cost subsidiary, airlines around the world have watching its progress closely. It was inevitable that other airlines would follow suit.

Fellow Star Alliance member Lufthansa launches its own low-cost airline 'Hans' at the beginning of April, using A321s. Modelled after Ted, Hans promises low fares, good beer and smiles everywhere it flies. Hans' first aircraft is appropriately named after that famous Bavarian, Hans the Humble - a nice gesture by Lufthansa.

Greg Drawbaugh managed to get the scoop on Hans' livery, which is based naturally on Lufthansa's, and really does it justice. The comprehensive decal sheet provides all of the necessary fuselage titling, tail logo and smaller markings. A full set of windows (with silver frames), door outlines and windshield is also provided (note that I happened to use a Liveries Unlimited detail sheet on my model).

This is another highly recommended sheet from Greg. Commendably thin (and yet tough enough to withstand handling), these decals all but disappear once on the model. The decal fits the Revell A321 in 1/144 scale or the Hasegawa A321 in 1/200 scale.
