In Formation 1/144 Metro III

By Tim Bradley

How long have we waited for a Metroliner III kit - twenty years? This has always been on my wish-they-would-build-it list. In Formation, the up-and-coming resin "Master Caster" has just released this much needed kit.

This full resin kit has sixteen pieces with scribed flying surfaces on the wings and tails. Body is one solid unit with a recessed nose gear well. The nose landing gear and doors are molded as one piece. All gear legs have a metal wire to reinforce them. The four bladed props are molded from the 1/200 Hasegawa C-130 kit. You'll need to trim the prop cuffs off and fill the small hole in the front of the spinner. The engine nacelles have all the scoops and a really fine looking exhaust pipe out the back of the wing.

The kit looks like it will and should go together in a night. The only thing that will hold you up is decals. DRAW decals will have some very soon for this fine little kit. I'm personally working on the early Horizon orange scheme for this and the DHC Dash 8.

Bottom line on this kit? I highly recommend it. You can see this Metro and all the other kits and accessory items on the www.drawdecal.com site.

My thanks to In Formation for their sample.
