Aviaelogy Decals by SkyGrid
|
Several new decals were just released by Aviaelogy/SkyGrid of Canada.
I would like to present my review of them.
The first decal sheet is marked AOD72001 (AOD48001 for 48th scale) and
is dedicated to antisubmarine (ASW) Liberators.
A color booklet is included with the set and it contains color scheme
of five airplanes, all of which look very attractive. The machines reperesented
are Liberators GR.V (Can). The booklet is very detailed on variations
of color schemes as well as differences in antennae equipment of each
airplane represented on the sheet. Nose art and stenciling are very well
done. Overall quality is excellent, especially knowing that decals were
printed by Microscale. The subject is thoroughly researched and is one
of the main areas of interest of Mr. Aviaelogy!
The next two sheets are RAF and FAA aircraft codes 36” as applied
to the fuselage sides of larger aircraft. One of them (AOD72C01) represents
dull red codes, while the other one (AOD72C02) – dark grey codes.
And finally, two more sheets are also available. One is with 8”
dull red codes (AOD72C03) and the next one is with 4” and 6”
black codes. The sheets are supplemented with instructions and recommendations
how to use them.
For all serial codes decals both, official and observed character shapes
of RAF, Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm, and other Commonwealth services aircraft
are included. There are enough variations and repetitions for many models.
All mentioned decal sheets are also available in 48th scale.
Highly recommended.
My thanks to Aviaelogy/SkyGrid for review samples.
Decals may be purchased at Aviaeology.
