With fortuitous timing, these 3 resin sets crossed my bench about the same time I was starting on my Trumpeter Wellington 1C. These sets are composed of some finely detailed resin parts to enhance the look of the interior of the Wimpey. Some of the parts are exceedingly fine but a number of  smaller parts had separated from the pouring stubs or were broken. In 2 of the above sets, some of the smallest parts found their way outside the packaging and were lost, even before the carpet monster had an opportunity to make a snack of them.

Being somewhat ham-handed, I had problems removing some of the more fragile looking parts from the pouringstubs without breaking them, and great care needs to be taken, otherwise you will have a lot of repair and/or replacing to do.

In comparing the resin bits to the kit parts they are intended to replace, Pavlas’ detail is certainly finer but the work involved preparing the parts without damage may be somewhat frustrating to some. The other issue is that the replacement parts can only be seen through the clear parts of the Trumpeter kit, somewhat negating the advantage of using the Pavla parts.

The instructions are minimal, exploded view type, with detailed painting instructions. On one of my sets, the instructions were very hard to read, as if the ink cartridge was running out on the printer they were using at the time.

Conclusion

The parts provided in these 3 sets are a small improvement over the parts provided in the Trumpeter kit, especially the bulkheads and the seats. That being said, however, if you want the limited enhancements that the Pavla kits do provide and are willing to have to take the care needed to prep the parts, only then I would recommend them.
