Short article as the Eduard 1/48 Fw 190 has been covered already in great detail both within Internet Modeler, as well as other sites. For example, IM has builds by James Mustarde, Robert Rensch, and Will Riepl, amongst others. In addition, if you do a Google search within IM you can find a bunch of First Looks already published.
I'm not exactly sure if there are differences in the plastic between this Dual Combo kit and the others that are already on the market. I do know that it comes with a pin with the symbol of A-6/R-11 'Neptun' II./JG 300 on it. I also know the decal sheet is pretty comprehensive and very much in register. It comes with markings for the following aircraft:
In addition, there is one drawing that shows the placement of all stencil decals.
Since this is a Dual Combo kit you receive two of everything - kit parts, photoetch, and masks. The trouble will be deciding what scheme to build everything in. Conclusion If you've been waiting to buy the Eduard Fw 190, then you might want to look this one over. Or, if you're a "completist" and must have all of the Eduard Fw 190 releases, then don't pass this one by. There are some very nice schemes that come with this kit. My thanks to Eduard for the review sample. |
