Eduard 1/35 Barracuda Camouflage Netting

By Chris Banyai-Riepl

Overview

The Barracuda style of camouflage netting has been around since the late 1950s, but it has gone through quite a few changes over the years. Initially, the focus was just to control visual spectrum camouflage, but current iterations of this netting incorporate both infrared and thermal spectrum camouflage, as well as some radar protection.

The Parts

Like the desert camouflage netting reviewed here, this set provides a single sheet of photoetch, pre-painted in camouflage colors. This is a standard woodland camouflage, with the underside being overall green and the upper side having a mix of olive drab, black, and light green. This netting can work for US and most European armies, and it would look right at home on a US Army Abrams as it would on a Swedish Leopard 2.

Conclusion

It is great to see Eduard branching out and providing excellent diorama accessories such as these camouflage netting sets. These really open up a lot of modeling possibilities and I am sure we will see some interesting displays using this netting soon. My thanks to Eduard for the review sample.
