Eduard 1/48 Focke-Wulf Ta-152 Zoom Set

By Jacob Russell

This Zoom set - item number FE 567 - is for HobbyBoss's new Focke-Wulf Ta-152C kit. It consists of 27 pieces, most of which are pre-painted, on a single self-adhesive photo-etched fret. The set also includes 2 sets of gunsight lenses on a clear acetate sheet.

Like most Zoom sets this one is devoted completely to the cockpit. Upgraded parts incude a new instrument panel, rudder pedals, seat and shoulder belts, new side consoles (which require you to sand off the kit detail in these areas), throttle quadrant, and the gunsight itself. This last item is a miniature exercise in Origami-like folding, so make sure you have your Optivisor and favorite p/e folding tool(s) to hand.

Hobbyboss's new Ta-152 kit is very good. Its cockpit is nicely detailed but the instrument panel and other items are notably lacking in detail, so this set is a welcome addition. If only Eduard would address the kit's poor annular radiator and propellor in their "Brassin" line, but I digress...

This set is highly recommended and I would like to thank Eduard for providing the review sample. p_e_1.jpg
