This Zoom set-item number SS400-is for the new Airfix Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I/IIa kit. It consists of 43 pieces, most of which are pre-painted, on a single self-adhesive fret. A piece of clear acetate with 4 gunsight lenses is also included. This set is devoted to the cockpit and it includes a new instrument panel, compass, Sutton harness, rudder pedals, throttle quadrant, windscreen mirror, and map case. Additional parts include a new armored headrest, undercarriage lever, elevator trim wheel, camera gun master switch, radio remote controller and pressure heat heating switch. The usual advice about using your Optivisor and preferred p/e folding tools applies here as well. Airfix's new Spitfire Mk.I/Mk.IIa is very good and the cockpit in particular is a marked improvement over their earlier Mk.IXc kit; this new Zoom set really enhances an interior that's already well detailed. I recommend this set and I would like to thank Eduard for providing the review sample.
