The last set of 1/72 P-26A decals from Starfighter Decals - set 72-119 - again for the Revell kit (although they might work with the Pavla kit, but are specifically designed for the Revell) is probably the ultimate set of decals for this kit.  Sure, they're only for the 17th Pursuit Group (PG), but they have to be the most colorful P-26As ever painted.  The following machines are covered:

  1. P-26A, 33-62, 95th Pursuit Squadron (PS), March Field, CA, was painted with blue tail surfaces and yellow scallops, a yellow and blue stripe from the cowl to the horizontal tail, and a yellow and blue headrest, front part of the wheel spats, and cowl
  2. P-26A, 33-63, 34th PS, March Field, CA, was painted with white tail surfaces and black scallops, a white and black stripe from the cowl to the horizontal tail, white and black headrest, white and black cowl and white and black wheel spats
  3. P-26A, 33-47, 73rd PS, March Field, CA, was painted with red tail surfaces and yellow scallops, yellow and red stripe from the cowl to the horizontal tail, yellow and red cowl, yellow and red headrest and yellow and red wheel spats; in addition, the instructions also call for an alternate scheme of a Light Blue fuselage (instead of Olive Drab)

Although the scans are lo-res, I hope you can see just how colorful and awesome this set of decals are.  My only concern is you have to paint the front of the engine "cover", depending on the machine.  Granted, white is white, but it might be a little difficult to match the red (for 33-47) and blue (for 33-62).  Graned, it will be difficult to see the cover aside from a head-on shot, so maybe by the time the model is finished it might not be such a bad thing.

Again, decals in register and beautiful.  One set I'm looking forward to using.

If I had to choose only one of the three sets, then 72-119 would be it.  Sure it costs more, but with the amount of decal material on the sheet and how colorful they are, it's more than worth the money.

My thanks to Starfighter Decals for this beautiful review set of decals.
