The Return of KP
By Matt Bittner
Dear Friends,
Kovozávody is back!!!
The Czech traditional modelling brand comes back to life after some delay. Once again the Kovozávody Prostějov labelled model kits are being released.
The re-establishment of the production of kits under the original KP label, that many of us remember from our modelling beginnings, is finally very near. Although the release of the first new kits has somewhat been held off due to delays in preparation of master models (for which fact the KP team duly apologizes), currently all the problems have been solved and everything is ready to go ahead. Quality claims its time, we don't want to have our kits prepared in a hurry.
Contrary to our original intention to begin with the model of an Avia C-2, now decision has been made to first release the Zlín Z-226 Trenér, the classic Czechoslovak aeroclub trainer. All variants will be reproduced in 1/72 scale, high quality made and using new metal (nickel) moulds. On our models you will be able to find finely recessed panel lines and realistic representation of the control surface separation, interior details and alternative parts to model all standard variants, while the instrument panels and safety harness will be reproduced as decals. Already under development are also the accessory sets, such as coloured photo-etched parts and canopy masks. We believe, that the Trenér aeroplane - “the classic in yeoman service” - really deserves our attention.
Additional info:
The master model for the Avia C-2, partially being also prepared using 3D technology, is now nearing its final stage of preparation following some unexpected delays. We expect to have this kit available during the summer.
Also in full swing is the preparation of the new Avia S-199/CS-199 kits.
We believe, that all these model kits are worth waiting.
We can send you the new price lists on request.
