Eduard 1/48 Bf109G-6 Late Series Overtrees
By Jacob Russell
This is Eduard's Overtrees version of their newly retooled Messerschmitt Bf109G-6 kit, recently reviewed for Internet Modeler by Chris Cowx. The plastic parts are identical to those in the ProfiPACK kit, minus the photo-etched parts, masks, the decals, and even the instructions.
Regarding the latter, it's an easy matter to download the instructions from Eduard's website, as I did last night, printing them with my inkjet printer.
I mentioned earlier that the plastic parts are identical to those in the ProfiPACK kit. They consist of 203 parts on 5 sprues, one of which is clear. Depending on how you decide to build your kit, you will have lots of parts for your spares box: you get your choice of tall or standard rudders, a pair of gondola cannon, the standard or Erla Haube canopies, tall or short tailwheels, 2 types of drop tanks, a bomb rack...
And if you are so inclined you can avail yourself of Eduard's photo-etched parts and their range of Brassin resin parts for the new Bf109G kits, many of which will be reviewed here at Internet Modeler shortly.
I like Eduard's range of Overtrees boxings of each of their new kits. The new Bf109G-6 is a surperb and accurate kit, and with the Overtrees option you can tailor the kit to your desire, with the help of Eduard's aftermarket parts.
I recommend this kit, and I would like to thank Eduard for providing this review sample.
