Eduard 1/72 MiG-21PFM Weekend

By Matt Bittner

I won't go into much detail with this First Look, mainly because Chris already covered it with his ProfiPACK review. Being a typical Weekend kit, this release contains only the plastic pieces for one model and decals for two MiG-21PFMs - including stencil decals - but does not come with masks nor photoetch. Eduard has actually released those separately so if you want to add more detail to this Weekend kit; or, which I think is more important, want to purchase masks for this kit, then definitely pick those up separately.

The markings catered for in this release are:

  • 4401, 3rd Squadron, 1st Fighter Regiment, České Budějovice, Czechoslovakia, first half of 1969 – second half of 1970
  • No. 6173, 927th Fighter Regiment, Phúc Yên AB, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, 1979

The MiG-21PFM in Czech markings is all-over natural metal/silver, while the Vietnamese bird is gray underneath with a brown, green and tan camouflage on top.

Since I have all for review, I will definitely be adding the Weekend photoetch set to this build, as well as using the all-important masks.

I definitely thank Eduard for sending this kit to review.
