APC Decals 1/72 Civilní UTI-ny
By Matt Bittner
I actually consider it a good thing that Eduard tends to release their plastic injected kits in what they call "Overtrees": nothing in the box but the plastic pieces. No instructions (which can be downloaded from their site), no masks, no photoetch, no resin and no decals. This way if you see a decal selection for markings you want that has been released in aftermarket, then you don't have to buy a "full kit" and have those decals "sitting around" taking up space.
That means an "Overtree" UTI MiG-15 in 1/72 would be a perfect thing to pick up for this selection of decals from APC Decals. This set contains two Czech civilian UTI MiG-15s:
- CS-102, OK-UTI, v.č. 242266, Czech Flying Legends
- SBLim-2, SP-YNZ, v.č. 1A-06006, Plzeň Lině, Srpen 2012
Both aircraft are silver overall and each has their own section on the instruction sheet explaining not only the overall finish, but specific markings as well (for example, SP-YNZ was a Polish SBLim-2 that had Czech markings covering the Polish markings, which is why they're out of proportion and in different locations).
If you're like me, and you have an "Overtree" UTI MiG-15 from Eduard, then you might want to pick up this set of decals to create a civilian UTI.
I definitely send "thanks" to APC Decals for the review set.
