Brengun 1/144 Bachem Ba 349 Natter Aftermarket
By Matt Bittner
A few months ago I took a look at the Brengun 1/144 Bachem Ba 349 Natters. They're very nice kits and out-of-the-box will make excellent additions to your modeling shelves. However, like almost anything in the modeling world it could be improved upon and that's where this aftermarket set from Brengun comes into play.
First the set comes with a fret of photoetch. Naturally the fret contains interior pieces such as a new floor, new head rest (which requires the molded-on one to be removed), rudder pedals, seat belts, control stick and instrument panel. For the exterior the photoetch includes a ring-and-bead gun sight, supports for the side rockets and rudder control rods.
This set also comes with eight pieces of resin which are all of the side-rockets with exhaust cones. These are definitely better detailed than the kits' since all rockets are separate which includes the above-mentioned photoetch supports. Plus, the separate exhaust cones are indented, giving the impression of being hollow. While adding the resin rockets will take more work than the kit parts (the injected plastic parts in the kit are one piece per side with both rockets being connected together with a rudimentary support system, the best injected plastic can provide, though) they will definitely look much better.
I definitely recommend this set to better detail an already outstanding kit.
I want to thank Brengun for allowing me to review this set.
