Brengun 1/72 Letov Š.328 Photoetch
By Matt Bittner
Having reviewed the Special Hobby 1/72 Letov Š.328s a few months ago I knew it was inevitable for someone to start releasing aftermarket for these models. Brengun was the first in releasing this set of photoetch.
With this set you receive sights and cocking-handles for the twin, rear-cockpit guns, along with hand-holds for the ammo drums. The set provides a replacement fold-up seat, with seat belts, for the pilot. It also contains a two-piece instrument panel, along with two pieces of clear film that contains the instrument dials. There are new "switches" for the rear, radio panel; a fold-up photoetch floor along with a rudder bar and rudder pedals (to which you adhere part of the kit's floor you cut away). The instructions show you need to remove 0.2mm from each side of the rear camera for additional pieces (how the heck am I going to measure 0.2mm?). There is a photoetch windscreen frame to which you attach clear film (I will probably just fill in the frames with some type of clear glue). There is a gun sight for the pilot. The set also includes a multi-piece, fold-up underside radiator that will look more representative. Finally Brengun provides you with two handles for the upper wing cut-out and a new prop hub you add after sanding off the one provided for on the plastic propeller.
This is an excellent set that will add plenty of excellent detail to an already outstanding kit. I am definitely looking forward to starting one of the Š.328s and using this set on it.
Huge thanks to Brengun for supplying the review sample.
