For kits that other aftermarket companies seem to ignore, Brengun has been releasing photoetch sets for such things as RS Models 1/72 Avia Bk.534, Platz 1/144 A-4 Skyhawk, etc. This time around Brengun has released this set of photoetch for the Sword 1/72 Spitfire PR Mk.IV.

Contained in this set is one photoetch fret and a piece of acetate film. That film contains two pieces for the instrument, those pieces being sandwiched between other pieces of photoetch. The rest of the fret contains items for the cockpit sidewalls, such as a throttle quadrant, etc.; a replacement control stick; an entire replacement floor, rear bulkhead, seat support and seat; belts and a cushioned back for that seat; a replacement camera door for the side of the fuselage; a replacement cockpit door; rear view mirrors (two types) for the canopy; additions for the landing gear legs; replacement landing gear doors; and replacement hubs for the wheels.

The Sword kit is excellent out of the box. Adding the Brengun set to it will put the model "over the top".

Huge thanks to Brengun for the review set.
