Eduard 1/72 Bf 110G-2 Weekend Photoetch
By Matt Bittner
Well, no longer is this a surprise. Eduard will release their 1/72 Bf 110G-2 as a Weekend Edition. Not only because they release Weekend Editions of almost every one of their kits, but also because they have released this photoetch set prior the kit’s release. Interesting.
There’s just enough to this photoetch set to help dress up a typical Weekend Edition Bf 110G-2. As we all know, Eduard includes just the plastic, and decals, in their Weekend Edition kits. No masks and no photoetch, their intention is to release a kit for those people who don’t want or need those extras. So it’s definitely interesting they release this smaller set of photoetch for a Weekend Edition kit, instead of what is contained within the usual Profipack release.
As I mentioned, this set just provides “the basics”, in a way more along the line of their Zoom releases. You receive seat belts for all seats; additional parts for those seats; replacement faces for the radios; additions for the “blank” instrument panel; replacement rudder pedals; a gun sight for the rear gunner; a throttle quadrant enhancement with throttle handles; additional side-wall pieces; oleo scissors for the main landing gear; antenna for the rear fuselage; replacement “loop” for the “loop” antenna; and an additional piece for the bombs.
A little bit more than a Zoom set, but not as much as a “usual” photoetch release from Eduard, this set provides some really good details for the Weekend Edition kit. If you feel like you want a little bit of photoetch for the Weekend 110G-2 (that hasn’t been released yet) then by all means, pick this up.
“Thank you” to Eduard for sending this set to review. Now just to wait for the actual Weekend Edition kit to show up.
