Eduard 1/72 Bf110G-4 OVERTREES Photo Etch
By Jacob Russell
This photo-etch set is for the Overtrees boxing of Eduard's Messerschmitt Bf110G-4 Nachtjager (Night fighter) kit. It consists of 45 parts on 2 sprues, one of which is pre-painted. This fret includes a new instrument panel, seatbelts for pilot and gunner, rudder pedals, radio faces, sidewall consoles, d/f loop, throttle quadrant, landing gear oleo scissors, gunsights, etc.
The second fret is an alignment template for the nose-mounted night fighter aerial array. You fold this template into a cube, and then attach 1 piece of each aerial segment to each of its 4 corners with tape. Next you glue the aerial array to the nose, with the template in place, and then remove the template once the glue has set. This is very clever and it helps to ensure that the aerials are correctly positioned.
I really like Eduard's Overtrees kits. It's easy enough to download the kit instructions from Eduard's website. Next you decide how complex a model you want to build, with the aid of Eduard's extensive Brassin resin parts, mask sets, and photo-etch sets. I recommend this set and I would like to thank Eduard for the review sample.
