Eduard 1/72 Brassin Wheels
By Jacob Russell
Here are Brassin wheel sets for 3 iconic World War Two fighter aircraft. The first set (Item 672 167) is P-40N main wheels and tail wheel for Special Hobby's P-40N. The tires have a diamond tread and they are convincingly weighted. You also get a set of Eduard's rice paper masks and a set of photo-etch wheel covers that fit nicely over the spoked wheels, and a cover for the tail wheel.
The next set (672 203) is for Eduard's own F6F Hellcat. The tires also have a diamond tread pattern and are weighted. The tail wheel is a spectacular piece of resin casting. The solid rubber tire has a visible rim and the lightening holes in the main strut are nicely executed. You also get a set of rice paper masks.
The final set (672 204) is for Tamiya's F4U Corsair kit. The tires are weighted and have a diamond tread pattern. The tail wheel and strut have the same spectacular casting detail as the Hellcat's. The F4U Corsair tail wheel assembly is very complex and Eduard includes some photo-etch pieces to enhance the detail and rice paper masks.
These are 3 solid Brassin sets. Each kit is very good out of the box, but Eduard's resin casting quality surpasses the limitations of injection molding. These Brassin wheels will enhance the looks of your finished models. I recommend them and I would like to thank Eduard for the review samples.
