Eduard 1/72 Eduard MiG-21 F.O.D.
By Matt Bittner
Overview
When parked on the ground, aircraft maintainers like to protect their wares. This is defintely the case for Foreign Object Debris (F.O.D.) covers which are used for at least the intakes and exhausts of jets. Naturally, even the MiG-21 had these covers and Eduard has released this set for their kits.
The Set
The Eduard 1/72 MiG-21 F.O.D. covers consists of four pieces of resin and a photoetch fret with 21 pieces on it. There is some surgery involved which consists of removing a portion of the exhaust prior to adding its cover; this is shown in the instructions. Not only do you receive the covers for the intake and exhaust - with photoetch elements that are added to each - but there is also a cover for a panel on each side of the fuselage, directly below the cockpit.
Conclusion
If you're looking to display your Eduard 1/72 MiG-21 "all covered up", then you'll probably want to pick up this set.
My thanks to Eduard for supplying this review set.
