Eduard 1/72 Hurricane Mk.I Self Adhesive Photo Etch
By Jacob Russell
This photo-etch set from Eduard (item number 73 501) is for Airfix's new Hawker Hurricane Mk.I kit. It consists of 65 pieces on 2 frets, one of which is self adhesive and pre-painted. You also get 5 gun sight lenses on a sheet of clear acetate. The self adhesive fret includes a new instrument panel, rudder pedals, seat belts, sidewall consoles, map case, throttle quadrant, a new compass base, etc.
The second fret includes a set of dropped flaps. These are complex assemblies and you will have to remove some plastic from the wings to install them. This is explained in Eduard's customary well illustrated instructions.
Airfix continues to impress with their revitalized line of inexpensive-and accurate-1/72nd scale kits, and their new Hurricane Mk.I is great. It is well detailed out of the box, and this set provides a pronounced step up in detail. The instrument panel is quite an upgrade all by itself, and the overall airframe is improved by small, but noticeable details, such as new oil cooler faces and exit door, a new cockpit step, etc. Eduard's new photo-etch parts will help you produce a highly detailed model. I would like to thank Eduard for the review sample.
