Eduard 1/72 Sea Venom FAW.21 (Self Adhesive)
By Chris Banyai-Riepl
Overview
The Cyberhobby/Dragon 1/72 de Havilland Sea Venom FAW.21 was an exciting release that has many modelers tackling Fleet Air Arm jets. While good out of the box, it is no surprise to see Eduard turn their attention to providing some extra detailing for this kit.
The Sea Venom Set
As common these days for Eduard sets, this set provides the same photoetch from their Zoom set that provides the basics for the interior, with a handful of exterior details thrown in for good measure. The interior parts for the most part are pre-painted and include the instrument panel, seat belts, rudder pedals, and console details. Exterior details include new oleo scissors, antenna blades, and windshield wipers.
The second fret of photoetch provides additional exterior details, including wheel well inserts and gear door details, more landing gear details, wing fold bits including the hinges, and some surface panels. Also getting extensive reworking are the flap pieces, which get complete well inserts and new flaps.
Conclusion
For those looking to do a bit more on the Cyberhobby kit, this set builds nicely on the details provided in the Zoom set. The added work done to the flaps and landing gear will definitely pay off on the finished model. My thanks to Eduard for the review sample.
