Eduard Brassin Bf109G-10 MTT Regensburg Big Sin
By Jacob Russell
This is Eduard's Big Sin Brassin Messerschmitt Bf109G-10 MTT Regensburg set. It's one of Eduard's "Greatest Hits" boxes that contain several sets previously available individually.
It consists of 80 parts. 35 of the parts are resin and 44 are photo-etch on 3 frets, one of which is pre-painted. There is also a sheet of acetate gunsight lenses, an instrument panel decal and a set of wheel masks.
The cockpit is stunning. You have your choice of 2 different instrument panels. You can either use an instrument decal panel or go the photo-etch route. You'll have great results way. You also get a clear piece of solid resin for the "Galland Panzer" canopy armor.
The sidewall detail is very impressive and it will look great under a coat of RLM 66 Gray. The pre-painted PE fret includes an instrument panel, seat harness, canopy lock, etc. The other fret includes rudder pedals, landing gear retraction wheels and chains, etc.
The wide mainwheels have the correct external seams and the inner faces are separate pieces so they'll be easier to paint. Apropos of painting you also get a handy set of masks.
The pitot tubes are an easy "plug and play" that simply replace the kit parts. Got more than one Eduard 109G? Perfect, the kit includes 3.
Tamiya's kit includes a complete Daimler-Benz 601 V-12 engine and you have the option of open or closed cowlings. This Brassin set is designed to work with the closed cowling option. This set includes one pair of resin exhaust stacks with resin boxes to hold them plus PE anti-glare panels.
The Messerschmitt Bf109G-10 is one of my favorite Bf109 variants. Eduardo's kit is the best G-10 kit on the market. You can build a great model right out of the box, but if you're looking to take your kit to the next level this Big Sin Brassin will help your model stand out. I recommend this kit and I would like to thank Eduard for the review sample.
