Fantasy Printshop 1/32 Prototype "P" Decals
By Chris Banyai-Riepl
Overview
Prototypes offer an interesting diversion from the usual wartime subject, but they often require quite a bit of work to backdate a production model. Once you've gone through all that work, the markings tend to be fairly simple, unless you happen to be building a British subject. These planes invariably carried a large yellow P in a yellow circle on the fuselage sides, and that has been a challenge to replicate. Until now.
The Decals
This small sheet from Fantasy Printshop provides a handful of prototype markings in two sizes for 1/32 modelers. There are six markings in each size, one set at 30 inches in diameter and the other at 36 inches in diameter. These two sizes are the most common sizes used, and will have a very large subject base upon which they could be applied.
Conclusion
For those wanting to make something a bit different, these decals will help simplify the finishing stage, and the price is definitely affordable at only £2.95. My thanks to Fantasy Printshop for the review sample.
