JBr Decals Retro Bat F/A-18D Decals
By Matt Bittner
From the instructions:
"Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 241 (VMFA(AW)-242) is a United States Marine Corps squadron flying F/A-18D Hornets. The squadron, known as the "Bats", is based at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, and falls under the command of Marine Aircraft Group 12.
"In 2010, the aircraft BuNo 164651 was painted in pseudo-retro paint scheme reminding the scheme sported by the squadron's A-6 Intruders during the Vietnam War."
JBr Decals has released this sheet in both 1/72 and 1/48 for this single Hornet. Decals are really nicely printed and appear to be in register. The colors are Light Ghost Grey on the bottom and Dark Ghost Grey on top. The rudders were painted white.
If you want to finish an F/A-18D in a unique finish with unique markings then you definitely want this set.
A definite round of "thanks" is given to JBr Decals for sending these sheets in for review.
