Steel Scorpion 1/144 Concrete Airfield Bases

Steel Scorpion 1/144 Concrete Airfield Bases

By Matt Bittner

Steel Scorpion is an aftermarket producer out of Poland. They have a number of unique items for sale, some of those being bases used for various aircraft. So far they have bases in 1/144, 1/72 and 1/48. To create the actual "look" of an airfield, etc., Steel Scorpion uses a special multilayerd print to represent a textured surface. They apply that print to a piece of 6mm PVC. The bases look very realistic and are very sturdy.

These two bases in 1/144 reflect two different type of "Concrete Airfields". The first is a darker airfield with smaller squares as the basis. The second is more of a weathered, "tanish-looking" airfield with a curved taxi-line as part of the display.

If you're looking to display your models on something besides the usual "wood block-type base", then what you need to do is purchase one of Steel Scoripon's bases.

My thanks to Steel Scorpion for supplying these bases for review. Please note Steel Scorpion is looking for world-wide distributors. If you would like to sell our products in your shop (or online) - just let us know! Contact: biuro@steelscorpion.pl.
