Wolfpak Decals 1/72 “Rumble in the Jungle”
By Matt Bittner
This is the second WW2-only release from Wolfpak Decals in 1/72. This one is titled "Rumble in the Jungle" (#72-097) and is another sheet devoted to aircraft that flew in the Pacific:
- P-40N "Rusty", 418th NFS, McGuire Field, Mindoro Philippines, April 1945
- P-39Q "Brooklyn Bum -2nd", 82nd TRS, 71st TRG, Tadji Airfield, New Guinea, Early 1945
- P-61B "Black Panther", 418th NFS, Morotai Island, November 1944
- B-25D "Old '59'", 491st BS(M), 341st BG(M), Yangkai Airfield, China, 1944
- B-25J, 490th BS, Burma Bridge Busters, Warazup, Burma, Early 1945
- B-26 "Margie", 33rd BS, 19th BG, Iron Range Airfield, Australia, Early 1943
- B-24J "Georgia Peach", 375th BS, 308th BG, Chengkung, China, 1944
Except for the all-black P-61B all other aircraft were standard Olive Drab upper sides and Neutral Grey undersides. Wolfpak's instructions are meticulous and are definitely best studied before kit construction as they note any discrepancies not only with construction but also painting. In addition the decals, being printed by Fantasy Printshop, can be assured of high-quality.
I definitely thank Wolfpak Decals for sending this sheet to review.
