Wolfpak Decals 1/72 “The Grim Reaper Cometh”
By Matt Bittner
"The Grim Reaper Cometh" (#72-099) covers some interesting aircraft, most of those F-4 Phantoms. The aircraft are:
- F-100D, 493rd TFS, 492nd TFS, 48th TFW, RAF Lakenheath, 1970 (SEA camouflage)
- F-4E, 496th TFS, Hahn Air Base, 1970 (SEA camouflage)
- AT-38B, 435th TFTS, Holloman AFB, March, 1984 (finished in blue/grey camouflage)
- F-4D, 7th TFS, Holloman AFB, New Mexico, 1970 (SEA camouflage)
- F-4D, 8th TFS, Holloman AFB, New Mexico, 1970 (SEA camouflage)
- B-26C, 149th BS (L), Richmond Airport, VA, 1955 (overall black with a white rudder)
- E-6B, SCW-1 (STRATCOM Wing One), Tinker AFB, September 2010 (overall "white")
All aircraft have models associated with them except for the E-6B. As there is only a kit of the E-6A you'll need to convert it to the E-6B standard. Living in Nebraska I see a lot of the E-6Bs flying around as it's where STRATCOM is based.
As with all prior Wolfpak Decal sheets this one is nicely printed and appears to be in register with some of the best decal instructions in the business. Many thanks are given to Wolfpak Decals for supplying this set to review.
