Yahu's Latest Photoetch in 1/24, 1/32, and 1/72
By Matt Bittner
I now consider Yahu instrument panels to be the best aftermarket instrument panels around. Sure the ones from Eduard are good, but most of them you have to build up which includes adding "something" to the dials to give the impression of "glass". However, with Yahu all you need to do is maybe bend them, maybe add an extra part that is best served as a separate part, then add the instrument panel into the cockpit. That's it. They're all pre-painted and pre-assembled (unless, as I mentioned, the extra part is best served separately) so it couldn't be easier.
Plus they look fantastic. The latest batch of photoetch Yahu sent include:
1/32 Spitfire Mk.II (for Revell) |
|
1/72 Bloch MB 152 (for RS) |
|
1/72 Curtiss P-40M (for Academy)
1/72 Curtiss P-40E (for AZ)
1/72 Blenheim Mk.I (for Airfix)
1/24 Luftwaffe Latch |
These all look great and will really enhance any model they're put in or on. In fact it's very timely they released a Blenheim Mk.I instrument panel now that the newly-tooled Airfix kit has been released.
It's interesting to note that not only does Yahu provide photoetch instrument panels, but latches too, especially in the larger scales.
I definitely recommend these. If you're looking to really enhance your cockpit then Yahu is the way to add a superlative looking instrument panel.
Many, many thanks to Yahu for supplying the review samples.
