By Matt Bittner

Since I'm not a serious student of the F-4 Phantom – especially the US Navy versions – I did not realize the F-4N was just an F-4B with newer internals. This book is great not just for pointing out those "slight" differences, but also is a treasure trove of markings and colors information, especially as the Phantoms operated in the Arabian Gulf and Vietnam. In addition, it points out that the first Phantom was the F-4H-1 that later in life became the F-4B - again, something I wasn't aware of.

If you have any interest in the F-4 Phantom, especially as it was flown with the US Navy, you'll definitely want to pick up this book. It's truly a treasure trove of excellent photos of the F-4B and F-4N.

My thanks to Classic Warships Publishing for sending the book in for review.
