The deep fascination with German aircraft projects during the Second World War continues to grow, and Mushroom Model Publications does its part to help fuel that interest. This latest title in their Red Series is their fourth volume covering this subject, with this book detailing attack, multi-purpose, and other aircraft. With the first two volumes covering fighters and the third bombers, adding this book should just about complete the series.
The book divides the subjects up by manufacturer, and then presents each subject with its own brief synopsis. As these are project aircraft, there are no photos, but most of the subjects do have drawings showing what they might have looked like. There are roughly 100 different aircraft described, so this book has quite a bit of information on German aircraft design. To add a bit of color to the book, the last 1/3 of the book is filled with color renderings showing many of these aircraft in what-if scenes, with different camouflages and markings as if they had made it into production.
For those who are interested in project aircraft, this is a great series to pick up, and will provide plenty of inspiration. My thanks to Mushroom Model Publications for the review copy.
